Pack types
Standard packs hold 5 cards and XL packs hold 10. Both use the same standard odds for every card. Rare packs hold 5 cards: one guaranteed epic or better, and 4 cards with boosted odds.
Odds per card
Every card in a pack is drawn independently with these chances. Within a rarity, all animals are equally likely.
| Rarity | Standard and XL packs | Rare pack, other cards | Rare pack, guaranteed card |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 50% | 20% | 0% |
| Uncommon | 30% | 22% | 0% |
| Rare | 11% | 27% | 0% |
| Epic | 5% | 18% | 80% |
| Legendary | 3% | 9% | 16% |
| Mythic | 1% | 4% | 4% |
The rare pack guarantee
One card in every rare pack is always epic or better: 80% epic, 16% legendary and 4% mythic. The other 4 cards use the boosted column of the table.
The pity rule
If you open 9 standard or XL packs in a row without an epic or better, the next standard or XL pack includes one epic-or-better card, drawn with the same odds as the rare pack guarantee.
Rarity and conservation status
Rarity is informed by an animal’s IUCN conservation status, so threatened and extinct species tend to be harder to find. It remains a separate game value: a card’s rarity is not an official IUCN category, and the encyclopedia shows both side by side.
