Developer and publisher

Animal Gacha is developed and published by Basalt Works, Tarragona, Spain. Publisher homepage: https://www.basaltworks.com/.

Original product work

The Animal Gacha code, branding, interface, game systems, and original text and artwork, including the original animal illustrations, are proprietary Basalt Works work or are used with permission, except where a third-party credit or license states otherwise.

Animal images and Wikimedia Commons

Animal Gacha uses animal images contributed by Wikimedia Commons participants and other identified sources, plus original illustrations made for Animal Gacha for extinct animals and species without a suitable free photograph. Rights vary by image. The collection includes material under Creative Commons licenses, including attribution and share-alike licenses, CC0 dedications, public-domain material, and images under other documented free licenses.

A Creative Commons or other free license can require creator attribution, a source link, the exact license and version, a license link, and an indication of modifications. CC0 and public-domain records retain a verified source and a clear rights basis. Local files may be cropped, resized, or converted to WebP for the product.

Attribution audit status

The strict record-by-record provenance audit of all 500 animal images is complete: 500 records are verified, with 0 probable, 0 unresolved, and 0 pending. For third-party images the audit verified each creator, canonical source, exact license or rights basis, local-image match, and modification notice; original illustrations are verified against the exact file recorded for them.

The structured imageCredit field on each animal record in src/data/animals.json is the per-image source of truth. The legal module records the completed audit totals without duplicating the 500 credit records.

Per-image credit index

The complete per-image credit index is published from the structured imageCredit metadata in the animal records. All 500 entries are verified. Each entry identifies the animal record, creator, source, rights status, license or other rights basis, known file modifications, and verification details.

Wildlife data and IUCN references

Animal Gacha uses general wildlife references, including IUCN conservation-status categories, as factual reference material. Data such as status, population, habitat, measurements, and range can change, be estimated, or differ between sources.

Gameplay rarity is informed by or correlated with conservation status but remains a separate game-design value. Animal Gacha and Basalt Works are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by IUCN. References to IUCN do not imply that IUCN prepared, reviewed, or approved the game or its data presentation.
